Healthy Homes Initiatives

We are committed to providing free assessments to vulnerable groups in Auckland, as part of our commitment to creating healthy and safe homes for all.

Here's a summary of the groups that we offer free assessments for:

People over the age of 55, living in Auckland

We are proud to announce that our Healthy Home Assessment program for people over the age of 55 is sponsored by the New Zealand Government. With their support, we are able to offer free assessments to eligible residents in Auckland.

As we age, our homes may not be as suitable for our changing needs. Our assessments will identify any potential hazards or risks in your home, and provide recommendations to improve the safety and health of your living environment. These recommendations may include improvements to lighting, flooring, accessibility features, and more. In addition to the assessment itself, our program also includes support and resources for making the recommended improvements. We understand that making changes to your home can be overwhelming, which is why we provide guidance and assistance every step of the way.

At Sustain and Enable, we believe that everyone deserves a healthy home, and we are committed to making that a reality for all Auckland residents over the age of 55. We are grateful for the support of the Auckland Council in making this program possible. Together, we can create healthier and safer homes for all.

People with disabilities:

We understand that living with a disability can be challenging, which is why we offer free healthy home assessments for people with disabilities. Our assessments are tailored to your specific needs and will identify any potential hazards or barriers that may be impacting your health and wellbeing. We'll provide recommendations to improve the accessibility and safety of your home, so you can live comfortably and independently.

Maori and Pacific Peoples

At Sustain and Enable, we believe that everyone deserves a healthy home, regardless of their ethnicity or background. We offer free healthy home assessments for Maori and Pacific Peoples, as we recognize the unique cultural and health needs of these communities. Our assessments will identify any potential health hazards or risks in your home and provide recommendations to improve the safety and health of your living environment.

Migrants of New Zealand

We understand that settling into a new country can be challenging, which is why we offer free healthy home assessments for migrants (excluding Western Europe) in New Zealand. Our assessments will identify any potential health hazards or risks in your home, and provide recommendations to improve the safety and health of your living environment. We want to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable in your new home.
